2010 USSSA Travel Tournaments
Madison baseball is very excited to announce that in 2010, the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), in conjunction with the City of Madison and the Madison Baseball Association (MBA), will hold seven (7) travel tournaments at Palmer Park. Both the City of Madison and the Madison Baseball Association view these tournaments as a positive step toward driving local revenue for the City of Madison and specifically, Palmer Park, while providing our MBA players even more opportunities to play in a more competitive environment without making the jump to full time travel ball.
The MBA has committed to clear out our recreational game schedule on these tournament weekends so that our recreational league players will be able to play in these tournaments without missing any recreational league play. The MBA will receive 100% of the net revenue generated through concession sales during these weekends and these funds will likely be used for park improvements moving forward. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of these tournaments is that you will no longer have to choose between travel baseball and recreational baseball. You can play both without picking one over the other. There will be more information coming out about these tournaments in the near future. Here are the dates:
-
April 16-18 Spring Challenge
-
May 8 - Madison May One Day
-
May 21-23 - Madison Woodbat Day
-
May 28-30 - High Heat
