The History of the Batting Cages

The batting cages were built in 1995 for the sole purpose of helping the baseball and softball players to improve their hitting skills. The ownership of the batting cages changed in April of 2001, at the height of the baseball season the Phillips bought them from the original owners. Our family has been involved in the Madison Baseball Association since 1989 when our oldest son, now 19, first started playing baseball. In 1989 there were only 12 teams in baseball which has grown to almost 100 teams from ages 5 to 12 in 2002.

        OUR CAGES

  • The pitching machines used at the batting cages are designed by Master Pitching, which use throwing arms which simulate a pitcher throwing the ball.
  • The pitching machines use soft-tuff balls which have a lower density than most batting cages.
  • We have a total of six cages, with one as a duel purpose cage that throws baseballs or softballs.
  • Machine speeds range from 45 mph to 65 mph, and the duel purpose cage also throws a lob softball.
  • All machines are quarter fed for walk up customers, or can be reserved for 1/2 hour or hourly rental.
  • We have some bats available and helmets, that must be worn by everyone using the cages, no exception!
  • Rates:
